Part of my Christmas bonus plus earnings from a writing project (Ayala Land Inc) went to a new toy: the world’s lightest DSLR to date, Canon EOS 100D aka “Rebel,” from BGC’s The Great Canon Sale two weeks ago. Good old iPhone 4s is still handy and takes great pictures, but this new gadget can be more reliable in shooting moments.

Rebel is so light and small I don’t mind using it without a tripod. Mike and I tested it this weekend at La Mesa Eco Park, which is 5-10 minutes away from their place in Quezon City. What I love about urban QC is its pockets of gardens and parks (we plan to shoot at Wildlife next).

Posted here are raw pix taken by amateur shooters, Mike and Ai, and we’re open to tips and techniques in achieving greater results with such a great gadget. Since we travel a lot, we think this will facilitate a smooth upgrade in the quality of images and memories, as we ‘graduate’ from our iPhones and that point and shoot Canon ixus 80 that is now kept in a drawer.
Hoping to capture better images.
