Four Reasons to Go on a Safari in Your Lifetime

The world is enormous and there are so many things to see and do that sometimes itcan be a little overwhelming. There are some things I’ve always wanted to do, and have managed to tick off my bucket list, like parasailing in Boracay, and others that are still on my list that I hope to do in the future. One thing I would love to do is a safari, and here are four reasons everyone should go on a safari in their lifetime.

See animals in their natural habitats

If you get a thrill from watching nature documentaries, imagine how amazing it would be to see these things in real life! Waking up to the sound of a lion roaring and spending your days watching hippos bathe and elephants march is something you can only imagine.

Depending on where you go, you might be able to catch sight of the elusive “Big Five”, which consists of lions, leopards, rhinoceros’, elephants, and Cape buffalo. Thankfully poaching is a lot less common now (and the only shooting should be with a camera) but the name has still stuck. Seeing animals up close and watching them live their lives is something that will stay with you forever.

Expert knowledge

When you take a guided tour, you are being let into the world of a safari expert. Not only do they know the best place to see certain animals, but they can also teach you things one wouldn’t be able to find out on TV, and they’ll allow you to ask questions, so you can feel as though you learn so much more.

A guided tour can go to places private vehicles are restricted from and, as the guides can chat to one another, they will be able to share information on where animals have been spotted, giving you the best chance to see as much as possible.

Perfect for families

A safariis a fantastic holiday for families, as long as you choose a guide who is good at keepingchildren engaged, as there might be some long stretches without seeing anyanimals. There are also plenty of things to do outside of just searching forthe animals, such as enjoying the beaches and exploring the local area.

Your children will build memories that will last a lifetime and teach them appreciation for the wild animals. Learning about the world while they enjoy themselves is a fantastic thing to be able to do while on holiday!

A customizable adventure

Although you may think of a safari as something that involves sitting in a car and sleeping in a tent, it doesn’t have to be that way. There are so many ways to customize your experience, from your accommodation to the style of safari you choose. For example, you can stay in a villa, perhaps if the trip is for a honeymoon, for example.

You can also choose between a variety of experiences, from a walking safari to exploring the water on a boat where you can get up close to hippos and elephants a little easier. Choose a trip where the guide is a photographer if you want to learn to take the best animal pictures.

These are just four reasons that safaris are a fantastic choice for a trip that everyone should do at least once in your life.
