a postmodern play*

do we love to make love or do we love …to make love?

why do we suspend a part of ourselves when we love?

why is everything in the wrong place when one is in love? why does everything in the wrong place fall in the right places when one loves?

is there a deviant love? is not love itself deviant of all emotions and that “deviant love” is an oxymoron?

why. do. humans. FALL. in. love. why fall? why love?

“It was inevitable…” (first three words in Garcia Marquez’s Love in the Time of Cholera)

*WHILE many did not appreciate (or understand the play’s postmodernism) I was entertained big time by Deviant Loves shown at the DL Umali Auditorium, UPLB (weeks ago) and here were the ambiguous voices on top of my head.

*performed by the Manila-based artists, Transitopia together with Samasining (Department of Humanities’ arts program), directed and choreographed by Jose Jay Cruz

I was also entertained. I love the way the play gave me an opportunity to come up with lots and lots of interpretations. I gave some of them to my friends for their reaction papers. Di daw kasi nila naiintindihan yung play so paano daw nila iyon gagawan ng critique. LMAO!

i guess it’s not supposed to mean anything. you just have to sit there and, well, enjoy the show. 🙂
