Bahala na si Batman (Batman will take care of it)
Los Baños, Laguna has been in the news of late as it witnessed a series of crimes in the past weeks and months. Helpless students have been the target of theft, murder, and rape. Because of this, the image of elbi (LB)–serene, peaceful, quiet, and beautiful–has been tainted somewhat. But we will not let this happen.
Bahala na si Batman–Batman will take care of it.
Had Batman been around, he would’ve arrived in the crime scene before the police, squashed the faces of the criminals, twisted their bones, and brought them straight to prison.
He would’ve protected the women by keeping a close eye on them (in stealth).
He would’ve stood his guard 24/7 especially in areas where students hang out to study…
where students meet their dates…
where students read…
where students play.
He would also prevent thefts of all kinds, such as stealing of cars…
and even of intellectual property rights.
Lastly, he will be the savior of all–not just women, but also men.
But with or without him, Batman shall live in every one of us in elbi. We will remain vigilant because we believe in peace, order, and social justice.
UPLB will remain to be the beautiful campus we know it to be–because we belong to the generation who believes in heroes and in characters who fought well and hard so that justice may prevail.
Rest in peace Given, Cecil, and Ray. Justice will be served.
