Aileen has a degree in Communication Arts, major in Writing, minor in Speech Communication, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She took courses in Comparative Literature before she left University teaching in 2010.
She has published more than a hundred magazine articles covering trade, economics, healthcare, education, technology, and science. Her Youngblood article that came out in the Philippine Daily Inquirer was one of the most difficult to write because of its content - personal narrative; it was shared more than 15,000 times online.
During her salad days, her 20s, she put up a travel magazine in the Philippines, worked in Singapore, roamed around Southeast Asia, and collaborated with people from different countries and cultures.
