Much as I want to stop imagining what happened in the Ampatuan, Maguindanao massacre of 56 people (and counting), I cant help but read the news more. More news angles I see, more steps I take in circumventing the scene of the crime in my mind.
Day before yesterday, there were speculations that the women, who were to file Vice Mayor Mangudadatu’s governor nomination at the Comelec, were raped. But some reports said there were no indications of rape. What’s verified is the gruesome picture of the women’s death.

I bought headaches this morning in Cubao before I boarded the bus to LB. They are all in the two broadsheets and thirteen tabloids that I paid for. What are they? News about the Maguindanao massacre, right on time for our journalism class that I’m facing today, in 30 minutes, to talk about ethics and press freedom and perhaps a little democracy, if there’s any, in this country.
